Newburgh & South Shore Railroad, LLC

SERVING CLEVELAND

Newburgh & South Shore Railroad (NSR) operates in the heart of Cleveland’s interstate highway system. NSR was originally built as one of several railroads in Ohio to serve U.S. Steel’s Cleveland area steel mills. Today, the rapidly growing short line serves a diverse customer base that includes Charter Steel Cleveland, Cleveland Plywood, Ferro Corporation, Minneapolis Flour, National Lime & Stone, North Coast Ferrous, and Phillips Metals. With acres of improved industrial property in the heart of Cleveland’s interstate highway system, NSR is poised for continued growth.

In addition to railroad services NSR offers transload operations in lumber, plastics and steel. NSR has demonstrated particular success in approaching difficult logistics problems with innovative solutions. For example, NSR established a storage and just-in-time delivery transload facility for Tymex Plastics.
